The English cellist, a founder-member of the Gabrieli Quartet, Keith Harvey has died at the age of 79. Inspired by Pablo Casals, then Pierre Fournier, Harvey's first lessons were local, with a cellist from the Liverpool Philharmonic. He entered the Royal Academy of Music (London) at sixteen, and prior to the formation of the Gabrieli Quartet Harvey was principal cellist of the London Philharmonic and then the English Chamber Orchestra.

Keith Harvey was born on 13 April 1938 and he died on 28 April 2017.
