Hall One, Kings Place
Sunday 28 January 2018 - 11am to 2pm
The incomparable Alfred Brendel will coach two professional string quartets – the Hieronymus and Marmen Quartets – this January, in a public masterclass on music close to his heart – that of Beethoven.
The world-renowned pianist has written that he learned the most from singers and conductors rather than pianists, and in this special masterclass he shares his great knowledge and breadth of understanding with string quartets.
ChamberStudio’s Artistic Director Richard Ireland says “Here is a rare opportunity to benefit from the wisdom of one of classical music's great interpreters in a masterclass setting - it is sure to prove illuminating and inspiring for players and listeners alike"
There will be two sessions, each of 75 minutes, separated by a 30-minute interval.
