The first revival of the Met’s acclaimed production of Wagner’s final opera features Evelyn Herlitzius, Klaus Florian Vogt, Peter Mattei, René Pape, and Evgeny Nikitin

New York, NY (January 29, 2018) – Klaus Florian Vogt will sing the title role in the first revival of one of the most acclaimed Met productions in recent years, Wagner’s final opera, Parsifal, conducted by Yannick Nézet-Séguin and directed by François Girard. The production of Wagner’s transcendent masterpiece opens on February 5 and marks the highly anticipated Met debut of one of Europe’s leading Wagnerians, Evelyn Herlitzius, as the mysterious Kundry. Original cast members from the 2013 premiere returning for this season’s seven performances include: Peter Mattei as Amfortas, the wounded King of the Knights of the Holy Grail; René Pape as the wise knight Gurnemanz; and Evgeny Nikitin as the evil Klingsor.
