The Incorporated Society of Musicians (ISM) is delighted to announce the appointment of David Saint, organist, director of music at St Chad's Cathedral, Birmingham and former Principal of Birmingham Conservatoire, as President 2018/19.
David will lead the ISM, the UK’s professional body for musicians, at a critical time of great change, both within the music sector and in the broader national and international context.
Of his appointment as ISM President 2018/19, David said: ‘It is a great honour to be taking up the Presidency of the Incorporated Society of Musicians for 2018-19. As I do so, I am deeply aware both of my very distinguished predecessors in the role and of the incredibly important work undertaken by the Society on behalf of musicians and our profession. We live in challenging times but, in meeting these challenges, the ISM is discovering new and exciting opportunities. I greatly look forward to supporting it and its excellent staff in the year ahead.’
Deborah Annetts, Chief Executive of the ISM said: ‘We are delighted to welcome David Saint as ISM President 2018/19.
