An evening to celebrate the life and work of the 'legendary' record producer, James Mallinson, who died, unexpectedly, on August 24th. (Links below to LSO Statement and Tony Faulkner’s Tribute.)
The programme will include personal and professional memories from colleagues, friends and family – plus music from Joanna MacGregor (Bach’s French Suite no.5 in G major and Messiaen’s Louange à l'immortalité de Jésus with violinist Madeleine Mitchell), Gareth Davies and members of the London Symphony Orchestra (Mozart's Flute Quartet in D major) – and an extract from the as yet unreleased Beethoven symphony cycle with the Britten Sinfonia and Thomas Adès on which James was working when he died.
Speakers will include Joanna MacGregor, Gareth Davies and Thomas Adès, Bernard Haitink, Valery Gergiev, Jack Renner and Bob Woods of Telarc with whom James worked extensively in the 1980s/90s, Kathryn McDowell from the LSO – and more...
Guests are invited to enjoy a glass of wine in which to toast James after the event. RSVP through link below.
