This Wednesday 23 January at 5.30pm there will be a special Evensong held in honour of the late Sir John Tavener at Temple Church. The Temple Singers will be giving the World Premiere of an unheard hymn composed by Tavener called 'O Son of Man’, which has been remembered and written out for this service by John Rutter (CBE).

The Temple Singers will also be performing a selection of Tavener’s compositions, including Mother of God from The Veil of the Temple, Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis and Song for Athene.

Sir John Tavener’s widow Maryanna Tavener will be attending the service, and John Rutter (CBE) will be giving a speech.
