The New York Philharmonic will return to Bravo! Vail in Colorado for the Orchestra’s 17th annual summer residency there, performing six orchestral concerts July 17–24, 2019. Jaap van Zweden will make his first appearance in Vail as Philharmonic Music Director, conducting three concerts that together feature works by Shostakovich, Beethoven, Britten, Rachmaninoff, and Brahms. Bramwell Tovey will return to Vail with the Philharmonic, conducting an evening of music by Cole Porter as well as a program of works by Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky. Alexander Joel, in his New York Philharmonic debut, will conduct Legendary Movie Music. The soloists during the residency include pianists Yefim Bronfman and Conrad Tao, and violinist Augustin Hadelich. The New York Philharmonic has performed at Bravo! Vail each summer since 2003.
