Many Happy Returns from Classical Source to Marek Janowski, chief conductor designate of the Dresden Philharmonic, 80 today.

Marek Janowski will commence his work as Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the Dresdner Philharmonie in the upcoming season 2019/2020. On the 8th and 10th of March 2019 the audience will experience him conducting concert versions of two Italian operas. Both performances will showcase the two single-act works „Cavalleria rusticana“ by Pietro Mascagni and „Il tabarro“ by Giacomo Puccini. Melody Moore, Brian Jadge and many more fantastic soloists shall be joined by the MDR Rundfunkchor to perform the two aforementioned works with maestro Janowski.
The programme for Marek Janowski’s first concert season in Dresden will be announced by the conductor on Friday the 5th of April 2019 at 13:00 in the Kulturpalast during the annual press conference of the Dresden Philharmonie.
