– I am very much looking forward to my new role at GöteborgsOperan. This theatre has an international reputation for its colorful and high quality program. The people who work there are very passionate about the art, and the infrastructure of the theatre offers wonderful possibilities for inspiring performances. The position of Artistic Director of GöteborgsOperan gives me the chance to take the best from my experiences in the international opera world onstage and backstage, and to use them to create exciting moments of music theatre together with all my new colleagues. Opera has the unique potential to reach both the heart and the mind. By exploring this rich potential together with the community in Göteborg and the region my goal is to make even more people enthusiastic about this art form that is so dear to me and the members of GöteborgsOperan. I am grateful for the confidence that GöteborgsOperan has shown me and I am looking forward to our common future, says Henning Ruhe.
