Andrew Marriner, son of Sir Neville, himself with a distinguished LSO pedigree, steps down this evening as principal clarinet of the London Symphony Orchestra, appointed 1977, principal since 86. The occasion is Janáček’s Cunning Little Vixen conducted by Sir Simon Rattle in the Philharmonie de Paris.
